Web research & structured data extraction

From scattered sources to a usable dataset.

I collect relevant business information from agreed public or authorized sources and organize it around your question. The brief separates what a source states, what can reasonably be inferred, and what remains unknown.

Start with your task

What you can hand over.

Examples of work we can scope together. The source material and intended result determine the approach.

Company, competitor and supplier research

Compare businesses, products or suppliers against a defined question, using permitted sources.

At handover A comparison table and concise findings with source URLs, retrieval dates and open questions.

Website and directory data

Organize appropriately accessible information into agreed fields. Access restrictions and permitted use determine feasibility.

At handover A source-linked CSV or spreadsheet, normalization notes and duplicate review.

Property and public-record organization

Collect relevant property, administrative or legal-document sources within an agreed scope. No legal advice, title verification or ownership guarantee.

At handover An organized source register that separates published observations from interpretations.

A useful fit

What the work includes.

For teams collecting business information from public websites, directories, or authorized source documents into an agreed structure.

  • Structured records with agreed fields and a usable export format.
  • Source and date notes, normalization rules, and duplicate handling.
  • A review summary identifying incomplete records and source limitations.

Scope boundaries

Feasibility depends on source quality, access permissions, and site restrictions. This is not a service for bypassing logins or anti-abuse controls. Scheduled refreshes are agreed separately.

Inspect the workflow

Self-initiated demonstrations with synthetic data, created to make the process and deliverables inspectable.

Inspect field definitions, qualification notes and missing information in a fictional research dataset. Live source collection is outside this demonstration.

A clear starting point

What to include in your brief.

  • Source sites or documents and the fields you need.
  • Approximate volume, permitted access, and intended use.
  • Whether you need one-time collection or a separately scoped refresh.

Start with a description. Please don’t send passwords, tokens, private contact lists, or full client datasets through the enquiry form.

From brief to handover

How we can approach it.

  1. Review the sources and confirm appropriate access.
  2. Agree a sample, field structure, and normalization rules.
  3. Collect and organize the information using a suitable method.
  4. Review the export and document gaps, dates, and limitations.

Useful to know

Before you send the brief.

Do all websites support extraction?

No. Access restrictions, changing layouts, source quality, and permitted use affect feasibility. The first step is to review the sources.

What file will I receive?

The format is agreed in the brief, usually a structured spreadsheet or CSV with clear column definitions.

Can the data be updated later?

Include your refresh needs in the enquiry. Repeat collection is a separate scope because source access and structure can change.
